10 years Datashift Celebration
Last Thursday we celebrated 10 years of Datashift together with over 100 of our colleagues, friends and customers. We assembled at the Faculty Club in Leuven for an evening full of inspiration from our speakers Jo Coutuer (ex-CDO BNP Paribas Fortis), Ruben Missinne (Data & Analytics Officer Colruyt Group) and Paul Van Den Bosch (professional coach of sports champions like Sven & Thibau Nys).
Our CEO Nico kicked off the dinner evening addressing our guests with the message that it’s not about the journey, nor the destination. It’s about the company. Without the stellar team he created, Datashift wouldn’t be the great success it has become. Nor without the trust of our customers and this trust cannot be gained without a clear way of doing things. Although Nico did state he never really had a big plan or blueprint. It’s all about finding, hiring and keeping the right people who do the right things.
It’s about the company indeed!
Both Jo and Ruben shared their do’s and don’ts in data strategy & governance from their vast experience at corporates like BNP Paribas Fortis and Colruyt Group.
- Jo pointed out that in data governance you indeed need a strategy and a framework, especially in large organisations.
- Ruben stressed the importance of creating a data-driven culture fostering collaboration across technical teams and the business.
The evening was topped off by Paul, who inspired us to be great coaches to the people around us, our kids, colleagues, friends. Linking it back to what we do, the challenge is never in the data or platforms itself. The technology is there. The challenge is in data leadership, getting everyone on board with the data vision. That’s the true key to becoming a data-driven company.
Thank you to all our guests for making the evening unforgettable!
